Wanting to isolate by velocity, or only affected volume areas (EmberGen)

Hi, I originally wrote this as a support ticket but I realized its not an issue, its either something I do not understand how to do, or a feature that is not yet implemented.

My scene includes an object rising out of the clouds from an airplanes perspective. I would like to capture, or export, ONLY the affected volume, like only the parts of the clouds that are moved by the object. the rest of the volume is completely stationary.

the way i would think this works is that there could be a velocity tab in the shader node that could be edited in a histogram, such that only the particles that are moving significantly appear.

I hope this can be done. Thanks!

Thanks for reaching out about this. I think I responded to your support ticket already, but you actually can do this already by using the Volume Post Process node. By making the source Velocity and the destination Smoke, you replace the smoke of the simulation by placing it only where the velocity is above your specific thresholds. Let me know if this helps!
