Freeze cloud simulation while still using it with colliders

Hi there,

I made a smokesimulation in embergen to build a cloud. The emission is over an the cloud is basically there but there’s still movement in it from the emergence. I want to freeze the current state while still having the possibility to have a collider collide with the cloud; so it can’t be trully frozen. Hope that’s clear?! Any suggestions how to freeze the emergence part of the simulation while keeping the rest dynamic? Thanks

Hi Peter, unfortunately there isn’t a way to do this in EmberGen at the moment. We’ve talked about this type of functionality before but it’s not built in yet. You could try key framing the timestep up really high (200 Hz or so?) and then keyframing it back to normal as a way to nullify the velocity but there could be other problems that come with that
