[EmberGen] Joints names change when imported in FBX

Hello.
I installed the trial version of EmberGen last week and started studying it.

I want to constrain the emitter to the nozzle of a jet engine.
I was able to import an animated sking model from Maya into EmberGen via FBX.
Jet engine animation is correct. This means that all joints should be loaded correctly.

However, names of some joints change,“Hips(1)”,“Hips(2)”,… and so on.
The desired joint should be one of them, but I tried all the renamed joints to no avail.
Why does the name change ? In Maya, every name is unique.

---------------------used software
Windows10 Home 22H2
Maya2023.3.1
FBX2020 (Binary)
EmberGen v1.2.2

…I then found my own solution and report it.

Joints that did not participate in skinning had its name changed.
By including the desired joints in the skinning(the weights remain zero),
they can now be used in EmberGen.

Thank you.

Hey thanks for reaching out about this and thanks for solving your own issue! I’ll be sure to relay this information to the team so that we can properly support mesh names like this in the future.

Thank you.
I look forward to future updates.
