JangaFX Roadmap V2 Released!

I’ve been spending a lot of time lately thinking about how we can be more open and transparent about our software development progress with a public roadmap. I’ve found that as time passes by we often have the same feature requests or similar support ticket items coming up and I wanted us to have a quick and easy way to link to something that confirms we are aware of an issue, or what our status on implementing a particular feature is. We’ve tried out a number of paid tools for creating software roadmaps and unfortunately most of them completely suck or lack significant features for added transparency. So we decided to build a road mapping tool in-house and if you want to pay for it and use it in your own projects, I’m happy to license it to you

The roadmap tool needed to have a few key features: A tab system to switch between products, categories, health statuses, card filtering, and expandable cards with gif support. To expand a card just click on it. The cards themselves support markdown so we can embed images and videos nicely in updates for the cards. Each card allows you to vote a feature up without logging in, but if you want to downvote (soon) or send us feedback on a feature you can login with your JangaFX account and do so. The other thing is the roadmap needed to be integrated directly into our website to keep the website flow seamless and I think it’s worked out pretty good for us. Some further features that are coming are a bug reporting portal, and global suggestions for general feedback, not just card specific feedback.

Let us know if there’s anything you’d like to see the new roadmap be able to do feature wise. We will continue to update the roadmap as needed and will eventually have past changelogs & shipped updates for each product housed here as well in a visually appealing manner.
