Bloom does not render

The bloom effect (Scene/Colours/Bloom Intensity and Radius) seems to show up in the viewports (both default and render) but when the image sequence is rendered there is no bloom. Attached image shows viewport on Embergen 7.5.4 with bloom and external read - no bloom. I’m assuming this is a bug - or is there an obscure setting somewhere I’m missing?

Just to check this I put the bloom way up in Embergen and rendered it - definitely no bloom in rendered images

This is a known issue. Hopefully we can have a solution in the future, but we’ve never been able to render bloom due to not having proper alpha channels for it.

Is Bloom now supported ?

yes, the render viewport channel exports the bloom in your scene

And Bloom also works if I render a VFX to a flipbook / image sequence with Alpha channel ?

Bloom will not transfer to the alpha channel. You’ll want to recreate that effect in the software where you are playing the flipbook

Oh, what a pity. Then there’s no reason to use EmberGen when you can achieve the same thing for free with the Unreal Flipbook Baker.

EmberGen has a bit more going for it than baking flipbooks, and I am not sure if any application can bake bloom into an alpha channel. They’re sort of at odds with each other

Oh yeah! I agree. EmberGen can create really cool effects like this flamethrower.
PlanetGen looks promising too!
